Here is what has been reported so far, all from coverage posted today, October 28, 2026, around Google's first digital assets symposium in New York.
The product is Google Multi-Party Compute (MPC). It is in private preview with banks and other financial firms, and Google plans a commercial launch in early 2027. Pricing has not been announced. Google has not named the testing institutions. Alphabet says it already uses the service to secure its own Ethereum and Solana holdings.
The design is the same idea as the MPC signing discussed in Binance Rebuilt My Bitkey: a private key is split into shares so no single place holds the whole key. Google's version adds institutional approval rules that a transaction must pass before it is signed. Google says it cannot read the keys in unencrypted form. Its stated protections target compromised credentials and unauthorized transactions. Post-quantum cryptography may be added later, but it is not part of the preview.
Reports differ on where the shares sit. One says they are spread across Google Cloud, institutional hardware and third-party cloud providers. Others say only separate environments. Treat the exact layout as Google's to confirm, since no technical paper has been published yet.
