Apple is expected to unveil its first touchscreen laptop today, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at a "Pro and tell" event in Los Angeles at 10 a.m. Pacific, which is noon in Chicago. As of this morning Apple had not confirmed the product itself. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and MacRumors report 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens, a Dynamic Island in place of the notch, a lighter and slightly thinner body, and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple has said touch will be an extra way to input, alongside the keyboard and trackpad, rather than the main one. Prices are still unconfirmed. Gurman's reported starting prices run from about $2,899 to $3,399 for the 16-inch, depending on the source, and the final name may not be "MacBook Ultra"; the invitation's "Pro and tell" tagline points to MacBook Pro branding. Reported availability is November 6, though that date also comes from Bloomberg. Treat all of these details as reported until Apple's newsroom publishes them.
