I just installed Tesla 2026.38.5.11 update. What should I know?

Congratulations on the update. Based on release notes collected by independent Tesla trackers (I couldn't open Tesla's own page), the main changes in 2026.38.5.11, rolling out since about October 24, 2026, are:

  • Automatic Collision Evasion (HW4 cars only): it can engage while you drive manually if a frontal collision looks imminent and braking alone may not prevent it, or if you seem inattentive. It hands control to Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to try to keep you safe.
  • FSD (Supervised) v14.3.13 (HW4): Tesla says reaction time is 20% faster, with better handling of emergency vehicles, school buses, traffic lights and small animals.
  • FSD v14.3 Lite (HW3 cars): adds parking, unparking and reversing, with fewer false slowdowns and smoother steering.
  • Arrival Options: choose Parking Lot, Street, Driveway or Pull Over. Your choice is saved for each destination.
  • Speed Profiles and Start Self-Driving from Park: the button appears only when the driver is seated, belted and the cabin camera is unobstructed.
  • Supercharger site maps, Visual Updates on the center display, and Security Improvements.

What to keep in mind: which features you see depends on your hardware (HW3 or HW4/AI4) and region, so some may be missing or different. FSD is still supervised, so keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Because Collision Evasion can act while you drive yourself, try it in an empty lot before relying on it. You can confirm the version under the software section of your car's settings.

Also discussed here:
- I’d like to install a Tesla Universal Wall Connector.
- What is the automatic collision evasion that Tesla updated my model…
