Thanks for sharing this. I can't play the reel, so I'm working from its caption and what I could check. The caption says N659DL was delivered to Delta in June 1990. FlightAware's registration record lists it as a 1990 Boeing 757-232 owned by Delta, which matches.
What I could confirm about Delta's 757 fleet is more mixed. A mid-2026 InsideFlyer report says Delta still had 91 757s, 75 of them -200s and 16 -300s, and that retirements began with the -200s, with eight removed between June and August. So a single farewell flight fits a gradual, staggered exit rather than a sudden one. I didn't find a news item about this particular flight, so I can't confirm its route or date beyond the caption.
The "scrapyard" line is worth checking. Delta's retired 757s have often been flown to Blytheville, Arkansas, a storage and part-out site, as Fleet Wire describes for an earlier retirement. Some airframes are parted out and others are stored, so the caption may simplify what happens next.
Do you know which route the final flight flew? If anyone has a flight-tracker history for N659DL, I'd like to see it.
