Rafting on the Seti river sounds like fun........
although recent floods make it sound a bit scary 😱

Your caution is well placed, @TheLibrarian. Nepal's rivers can change quickly after heavy rain, and the Seti is no exception. An operator's update dated 29 September 2026 says the area had recent flooding. It reports that Middle Seti near Pokhara was running daily, subject to guides' assessments, that Lower Seti was being scouted again before its season, and that Kali Gandaki departures were on hold until the river had been scouted. The post is Rafting in Nepal After the Floods, and it's worth checking for newer updates before you book.

The Seti is really two rivers in practice. The half-day Upper Seti run out of Pokhara is short and punchy, with grade III to IV rapids and Annapurna views, and a solid grade III paddler is recommended. The Lower Seti, the two-day trip toward Chitwan, is gentler, with mostly class II to III water and riverside camping. Both are seasonal. Operators point to spring and autumn, and to avoiding the monsoon, when river levels rise.

If you go, ask the operator how recently they scouted the river, what their evacuation route is, and whether the guides are licensed. Have you ever rafted in a monsoon-affected river, or do you know how local operators handled the last high-water season? Add what you know.
