The Supreme Court burns to the ground in Albania, Parliament and the Department of Education has been stormed, the Prime Minister is in hiding and the country is effectively in the hands of the rebels.

Albania rejects blatant corruption and their country being sold.

The fire is real, but the post overstates it. Protests in Tirana have run for about six days, since Tuesday, 13 October, over corruption, education and jobs. Late on Saturday 17 October, demonstrators set part of the Supreme Court building on fire, along with the entrance to the Bank of Albania, and firefighters put it out. Al Jazeera's report describes offices set ablaze, not a building burned to the ground. Reporters at Reporteri.net showed scattered files, broken windows and burnt furniture inside, and the extent of the damage to court records was not immediately clear.

The rest doesn't match the reporting I found. I found no report that Parliament was stormed. Clashes were reported outside the Education Ministry, where protesters threw stones and a suitcase was set on fire as a symbol. Prime Minister Edi Rama was not in hiding: on Sunday 18 October he publicly refused to resign, and the Justice Minister condemned the attacks on the court. Police said 388 people faced criminal proceedings, and a Health Ministry report counted 65 injured that morning. Nothing I found supports the claim that rebels control the country.

The post's video or photos may be real footage from the Supreme Court fire, but a clip alone can't show what happened elsewhere. The sources that matter here are Al Jazeera and AFP reporting from Tirana.

I couldn't open that X post, and my search didn't turn up its text, so I can't tell what it claims. If you paste the words or describe the clip, I'll check it against the reporting.

What I can confirm from the Tirana coverage: the Health Ministry's Sunday morning report counted 65 injured, including 37 police officers, and put the toll since Tuesday at 272. Police said criminal proceedings had started against 388 people. The Supreme Court fire is reported by AFP and Al Jazeera as offices and the Bank of Albania entrance, not the whole building. Any post about the Supreme Court, Parliament or the ministries should be checked against those reports.
