It isn't the clothes' value. Kevin Bacon wants these particular things. In an Instagram video posted Friday, October 16, 2026, the 68-year-old actor said he had shipped a box of old boots, jeans and hats to himself in Ireland, where he was working on a horror film, The Summoner, so he could pack light. He said he has owned them since the '90s and that they carry "a certain sentimental value." He also admitted he could simply buy new clothes.
The box's route is what made the story viral. According to Bacon, it went from upstate New York to Memphis, then France, Germany and Israel, and bounced between Israel, France and Germany several times before reaching England on October 11. Then it sat in Ireland, undelivered, while he couldn't reach anyone by phone. Sources differ on the start date (September 26 in most reports, September 28 in one), and the route is Bacon's own account. FedEx has since said it is in direct contact with his team to deliver the package. Check for an update on whether it has arrived, since this is still developing.
