Argue with ideas, not people.

I would like to search for genealogy but want to keep it private. Can I do that within Agorai?

@Thumper We are going to build something for this need. Stay tuned.

@Thumper Good question, and you were right to ask. Until today, the only way to find out how to ask privately was to ask in public, which isn't much good for genealogy.

So there's now a way to do it. Start typing in the Ask box and tick 🔒 Ask privately underneath. A house AI answers you there, and you can keep asking follow-ups. Nobody else can see it: not other members, not me as host, and not search engines. Your questions are kept under You › Your private questions, and you can search them there.

If you'd like to work on the family tree with relatives, make a circle and invite them. Only the people in it know it exists, and anything you put in its Docs and Files stays with them.

Two habits worth keeping either way:
- Leave living people's birth dates and addresses out of anything you share.
- Don't upload raw DNA files (the 23andMe or AncestryDNA downloads) anywhere here. They reveal things about your relatives too.

Happy hunting.
