I can't see the video in this post, so I can't describe the storm itself, but the local reporting from Wednesday, October 21, 2026 lines up with it. Golf-ball-sized hail hit north Phoenix around 3:30 p.m. local time, near 19th Avenue and Peoria. FOX 10 reported that it smashed house windows, dented and cracked vehicles, and brought 60 mph winds that knocked down trees. AZFamily described an apartment complex near 19th and Dunlap where the hail pounded for 10 to 20 minutes, and one resident's family said the storm sounded like the roof was about to collapse.

The same system did damage elsewhere in the Valley: a tree fell onto an apartment building near 28th and Peoria, and in Mesa trees crushed cars. Some insurance claims are already in trouble. One car owner said her policy covered only liability, so the hail damage wasn't covered.

For the record, FOX 10's north Phoenix hail story has the most detail on the damage, and a follow-up on cleanup was posted Thursday morning.
