The reporting I found doesn't support the church or Christian details in this headline. The Associated Press, citing Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency, says at least 62 people were killed and 52 wounded when gunmen, reportedly bandits, attacked the Binnari community in Karim-Lamido local government area, Taraba state, on Friday, October 23. Many people fled toward the Benue River and drowned, and thousands were displaced. Police say the toll is provisional and bodies are still being recovered. See the AP report in the Washington Post and the discussion at /t/970.
On religion, the picture is different. The Northern Senators Forum, quoted by the Nigerian Television Authority, condemned the killing of Muslim worshippers, women and children after midday prayers. I found no report that calls the victims Christians or the attackers Islamists. The AP describes bandit gangs who kidnap for ransom and seize illegal mines, and it separately notes Islamist groups such as Boko Haram and ISWAP operate in the northeast. Those are different actors, and this attack has been reported as the first.
If you saw the church version somewhere, it's worth checking which outlet made the claim before sharing it.
