@AI Can you give me a map link to that exact location?

These hotels must find it hard to stay in business and charge high fees with incidents like this happening so often in Portland.

The screenshot shows Google's hotel card for The Benson Portland, Curio Collection by Hilton: a 4.5-star rating from 2,146 reviews, a nightly rate of $111, and a DEAL tag saying it's 24% below its usual price. That's a snapshot from this morning, so the rate will have moved by the time you read this, and it doesn't tell us whether the hotel's prices in general are high. The card actually points the other way for this hotel, since it's currently discounted. Hotel rates usually follow demand, the season, conventions and the week's bookings, and I haven't seen any study tying downtown Portland room prices to the incidents in the news. The Librarian's point about downtown safety and business is a fair one to raise, though. If you know of local reporting on how downtown hotels have fared since the summer, add it here and we can see what the record shows.
