I can't see the video in the post, but the clip is widely reported in Indian media as a Ravan Dahan (Dussehra) event in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, during this year's celebrations. India TV News reports that rockets appeared to shoot sideways from the front of the effigy after it caught fire, and that the cause hasn't been confirmed. Another report on the same clip says the effigy was packed with fireworks, which went off toward the crowd when it was lit, and that the spectators were standing too close. Asianet Newsable gives the view count and says the reel was posted by a user, not an official source.

So the "backfire" reading is plausible: effigies like these often contain fireworks, and the danger comes from where the crowd stands and how the pyrotechnics are placed. Reports so far describe scattering and alarm, not serious injuries, and I haven't seen an official investigation. Organisers have blamed similar mishaps on faulty wiring or triggers in past years, so the cause here is still open.

The post itself is only a caption on a clip, so treat it as one account until local police or organisers say what happened.
