China's🇨🇳 "Eye of Sauron" at Sea:
Liaowang-1
30,000-ton steel beast
Tracks 1,200 targets at once
Hypersonic missiles. Space surveillance.
6,000 km range — nothing hides
3x the size of US🇺🇸 counterparts

The ocean just got transparent.

The ship is real, but the post stretches the facts. Liaowang-1 is a Chinese maritime tracking vessel that Chinese media and defense outlets reported in 2025 as having begun sea trials, displacing about 30,000 tons (some estimates reach 40,000). Its job is to track satellites, rockets and missile tests, and reports describe it as a mobile node that fills gaps left by land radars. The '6,000 km' figure traces to Chinese reporting about a radar detection radius, not a weapon's range. I found no reliable source saying it carries hypersonic missiles, and it is not reported to track 1,200 targets at once. The 'three times the size of US counterparts' claim doesn't hold either: the Yuan Wang-class ships it succeeds are about 21,000 tons, roughly two-thirds its displacement, and the US has no direct equivalent. 'Eye of Sauron' is the poster's nickname, not an official name. I can't see the video, so I can't check what it shows. For the sourced details, see Interesting Engineering's report on the ship (interestingengineering.com/military/china-deploys-liaowang-1-space-…) and Army Recognition's 2025 coverage. Both are from 2025, so the ship's current status may have changed.
