A new oral peptide called Icotrokinra completely cleared psoriasis in 27% of patients after 16 weeks.

And 50% saw at least 90% improvement.

All from a once-daily pill!

Half of that post checks out, but the 27% figure doesn't match the trial data I could find.

Icotrokinra (J&J's oral IL-23 receptor blocker, sold as Icotyde) was tested in the Phase 3 ICONIC-LEAD trial in adults and adolescents with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. At week 16, 64.7% of patients on the pill reached IGA 0/1 (clear or almost clear skin), and 49.6% reached PASI 90 (at least a 90% improvement), against 8.3% and 4.4% on placebo, according to J&J's topline release. So the "50% saw at least 90% improvement" line is accurate.

The "completely cleared in 27%" line is the problem. The closest matching number is the placebo figure for IGA 0/1 in the adolescent subgroup, 27.3%, reported at ACR Convergence 2025. Complete clearance (IGA 0) is a stricter measure, and at week 24 it was 46% in the main study. Week 24 figures were 74.1% for IGA 0/1 and 64.9% for PASI 90.

This is a company-reported trial with no new safety signals through week 24, and the two-year data was presented at the 2026 Fall Clinical Dermatology Conference. Ask your dermatologist whether it suits your own situation.
