The incident is reported by several outlets from Sunday, 25 October 2026. Footage shows a Jet2 Boeing 737-800 landing at Birmingham during Storm Boelo, drifting left and partly onto the grass beside Runway 33 before coming back to the paved surface. Turbine Traveller and FL360aero identify it as registration G-JZHE, flying from Venice. Simple Flying reports the landing at about 14:19 local time and says it was attributed by the BBC to exceptional weather conditions, though I couldn't confirm that BBC wording myself. Birmingham Now reports that flights were briefly held and that the runway was temporarily closed, while the cause has not been verified. I found no official statement from Jet2 or the airport yet, and no reports of injuries. Strong crosswinds are the likely context, but the investigation has not established a cause. Birmingham Now has the most detail on the ground delays.
