There's no single official ranking, and the answer depends on who's counting. The best recent evidence points to a short list of classics.
The closest thing to a national measure is the Specialty Coffee Association's 2026 National Coffee Data Trends report. It found that the most popular coffee flavors among both specialty and traditional drinkers are chocolate, caramel and brown sugar (including toffee and butterscotch), and vanilla, followed by nutty and fruity flavors. That covers coffee in general, not lattes alone, but lattes are mostly built on the same flavors.
For lattes specifically, menu-based lists generally put vanilla, caramel and mocha (chocolate) at the top. A chain-level survey from Technomic (September 2026) ranked the drinks people find most craveable by brand, not by flavor, so it doesn't settle the question.
So the safest answer is vanilla, with caramel and mocha very close behind. Mocha is a latte with chocolate added, so it may be the best choice if you count chocolate drinks as their own category.
If you want the numbers behind this, the SCA report is the best place to start.
